Nuggets Buzzer-Beater Stuns Lakers, Hands Them Heartbreaking Loss

Epic Comeback Falls Short as Reaves Delivers Dagger

Los Angeles, California - December 5, 2023

In a heart-stopping finish at the Crypto.com Arena, the Denver Nuggets snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, edging out the Los Angeles Lakers 112-111 with a last-second buzzer-beater from Austin Reaves.

The Lakers, fueled by a dominant fourth-quarter performance from LeBron James, rallied from a 10-point deficit to tie the game with just seconds remaining. However, Reaves' clutch three-pointer sent the Nuggets bench into a frenzy and silenced the Lakers faithful.

James finished with a game-high 35 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists, leading the Lakers' comeback charge. Anthony Davis added 23 points, but his late-game foul on Nikola Jokic ultimately proved costly.

Jokic, the reigning MVP, was a force for the Nuggets, posting 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists. Jamal Murray chipped in with 20 points, including several key baskets down the stretch.

The loss marked the Lakers' second straight defeat and dropped their record to 10-13. The Nuggets, meanwhile, improved to 14-10 and continue to challenge for the top spot in the Western Conference.
